The Gold Museum is excited to announce that our collection records are now available for the public to search online at the new website

A total of 63,031 records have been uploaded out of the Museum’s 100,000 objects, with plans to add more in the coming months.

Approximately 4,000 of the online records have digital images attached, and we are currently engaged in an active digitisation program to increase this amount in the near future.

The Gold Museum houses a diverse range of historical collections including objects, artworks, costumes, numismatics, archival records and photographs, focused primarily on the history of Ballarat. More detailed information can be found here.

For the benefit of researchers, we have provided links to some of our most requested search areas:

The museum has only recently transferred its collection data to Vernon Systems and we are aware that much work is needed to update and add further detail to many of the records. Please feel free to explore the website and we welcome your feedback via email.
